Sept. 24, 2013
The College of Central Florida has unveiled its 2013-2014 Arts Calendar and a full season of performing and visual arts events.
The calendar is available at the Dassance Fine Arts Center, Webber Center Gallery and the Communications Center in the Ewers Century Center at the CF Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road. The publication is a comprehensive guide to the arts at the college for the entire academic year.
“Whatever your taste in visual arts, music or theatre, you will be inspired by the level and scope of the performances and exhibits available,” said Dr. Jennifer Fryns, associate dean of Liberal Arts and Sciences. “In addition to our student performances, we also bring guest artists to perform and work with our students in masterclasses, adding another dimension to the educational experience at CF.”
Ticket prices vary and admission is free for some events. Tickets and information are available at 352-873-5800 or Tickets.cf.edu.
Productions include “All My Sons” and “Beyond Therapy” by CF Theatre, and performances by the musical theatre ensemble, wind symphony, Patriot Singers concert choir, Patriot Blues jazz band, CF Inspirational Choir, CF Young Singers, and chamber ensembles. The public is also invited to observe the free Masterclass and Lecture Series events which occur throughout the year.
Visual arts and writing students will be featured in the “Annual Student Exhibition and Imprints Reading” in the spring. Visitors to the exhibit can enjoy and even purchase artwork by the talented, emerging artists who are studying at CF. Copies of Imprints literary and art magazine will be available.
Exhibits at the Webber Gallery include the Visual Artists’ Society “Best of the Season: Winter Wonderland,” the annual “Trains at the Holidays,” “A Permanent Mark: Highlights of CF’s Art Collection,” “Art History 101: Icons of Western Art” and more.
Copies are also available at the CF Citrus Campus, 3800 S. Lecanto Highway, Lecanto; and the CF Levy Center, 114 Rodgers Blvd., Chiefland.
