CF Forensics Team Brings Home Honors
Oct. 9, 2013
The College of Central Florida Forensics Team brought home trophies from its first tournament of the year — the Capital City Classic Speech and Debate Tournament in Tallahassee, Sept. 26-29.
The CF Forensics Team placed fifth overall outperforming several four-year colleges. Jessica Anderson placed second in Persuasive Speaking; Joshua Wellborn placed fifth in Persuasive Speaking; and Emily Thatcher placed fifth in Programmed Oral Interpretation. The competition included more than 200 students from two- and four-year colleges.
“Last year we didn’t win any trophies until the last tournament of the year. This year we brought home hardware at our first tournament,” said Jon Schneiderman, team advisor. “I am extremely proud of our students.”
The CF Forensics Team prepares students for successful careers in communications, pre-law, teaching, business management and more. Participation in a forensics team can also provide personal enrichment and aid in overcoming the fear of public speaking.
