CF Convenes International Panel to Discuss Mandela Legacy

The College of Central Florida will host two international panel discussions on “Nelson Mandela and Global Legacy on Racial Dialogue” Feb. 24 and 25.

Dr. John Anene, CF associate professor of Humanities and Social Sciences, will moderate the panel of four Fulbright Scholars as they reflect on the legacies of Nelson Mandela and racial reconciliation resulting in positive developments and challenges in contemporary South Africa.

Panelists are Dr. Hunt Davis, University of Florida professor emeritus and editor of “African Studies Quarterly”; Dr. Greg Kiker, UF associate professor of agriculture and biological engineering; Dr. Okechukwu Iheduru, Arizona State University professor of politics and global studies; and Dr. Tshifhwa Nangammbi, senior lecturer in zoology at the University of Venda, South Africa.

The first discussion will be Monday, Feb. 24, at 9:30 a.m. at the CF Citrus Learning and Conference Center, 3800 S. Lecanto Highway, Lecanto. The second discussion will be Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 12:30 p.m. in the Ewers Century Center at the CF Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road. Both events are free and open to the public.
