CF Hosts Presentations on Democratic Consolidation in Nigeria

The College of Central Florida will host presentations on “Democratic Consolidation: Tensions and Challenges in Nigeria” with Dr. Victor Adefemi Isumonah of the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
Isumonah will visit the CF Citrus Campus Monday, Sept. 23, from 9:30-10:45 a.m. in the Citrus Learning and Conference Center, Room 208, 3800 S. Lecanto Highway in Lecanto. A meet and greet will follow from 12:30-1:45 p.m.
The Ocala Campus will host a presentation Tuesday, Sept. 24, from 12:30-1:45 p.m. in the Ewers Century Center, 3001 S.W. College Road. A meet and greet will follow from 2-4 p.m.
Nigeria is an oil producing country of more than 170 million people, with more than 250 ethnic nationalities and multiple religious identities.
Isumonah teaches political science at the University of Ibadan, where he also earned his doctorate in 1998. He is widely published on Nigerian society, politics and economics. Among his many publications are “Armed Society in the Niger Delta,” “Imperial Presidency and Democratic Consolidation in Nigeria,” and “Fiscal Federalism and Regional Inequality in Nigeria.”
