CF Student Art Show Opens April 9

March 31, 2014

The College of Central Florida will open its 2014 Student Art Exhibition Wednesday, April 9, at 12:30 p.m. in the Webber Center Gallery, 3001 S.W. College Road.

This annual, judged exhibit is a favorite with students, faculty and staff. The exhibit includes artwork created by students from the Ocala and Citrus campuses during summer and fall 2013 and spring 2014 semesters.

The judge for the exhibition is Bryan Yeager, gallery manager and public art administrator for University Galleries at the University of Florida.

“This exhibition of art by CF Visual Arts students showcases students’ talent and variety of styles,” said Tyrus Clutter, CF assistant professor of Visual and Performing Arts. “Visitors will easily see why the college’s art program is one of the best places around to both learn the fundamentals of art and design as well as start a career in visual art.”

The exhibition will include a variety of two- and three-dimensional works, including paintings, drawings, digital media, printmaking, sculpture and ceramics. Many of the works are available for sale. The exhibit will continue through May 2.

The 2014 edition of the Ocala Campus student literary and art publication, “Imprints,” will also be unveiled.

The exhibit and reception are free. Webber Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The gallery is closed Saturdays and Sundays and college-observed holidays. For more information, call 352-873-5809.
