Celebrating 50 Years of Service

The past year was a very special one for the college, a year in which we celebrated 50 years of service to Citrus, Levy and Marion counties. We have been gratified by the community response to our 50th anniversary, and we are proud of what we have accomplished in 2006-2007. In this annual report, in addition to a profile of enrollment and finances for this year, many of the accomplishments for the year are briefly described.

During the fall semester of 2007, we are giving considerable attention to defining our commitment for the next 50 years – our promise for the future. We are also launching a major gift campaign in the fall, a campaign designed to help secure the future of the college. In addition to raising funds to help offset the cost of new facilities in Citrus and Levy counties, we will raise funds for a
permanent endowment for creating new and expanding existing educational programs. This Promise for the Future Fund will be a wonderful legacy from those of us who care deeply about ensuring that Central Florida Community College will be providing outstanding learning opportunities in 2057, just as we are in 2007, and just as our founders hoped it would be in 1957.
