Wormhole

A dark descent befalls, wherefore I go unknown,
Eons old limestone, ancient fossils hold,
Caver walls, storied halls of history past.
Pockmarked passageways that way and this,
A mouse, a maze, a wedge of Swiss eternally aged.

Stalactites downward dangerously dangling,
Stalagmites protruding through centuried gums
A ghastly maw silently welcomes all.

Calciferous crystals secretly slice,
Suffering skin silently screaming.
A small price to pay today,
To burrow in an unknown world.
