READING LIST AND MEETING SCHEDULE FOR 2011-2012
Come and join the CF Book Club during the academic year as we explore eight works of literature. All discussions will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the Library conference room (Building 3, Room 104F). Below is the reading list and meeting schedule:
September 9: Maus: A Survivor's Tale by Art Speigelman – Learning Theme book for the year – discussion leader Andrew Jenkins
September 30: Blue Revolution by Cynthia Barnett – discussion leader Darrell Riley – in connection with Barnett’s appearance on campus Oct. 4, and her call for a national water ethic
November 4: I Am One of You Forever by Fred Chappell – the Book Club will meet with the Debra Vazquez Memorial Poetry Series speaker, who will be on campus Nov. 3-4 – discussion leader Wendy Adams
December 2: The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven by Sherman Alexie – discussion leader Richard Kirk
January 27: Unfamiliar Fishes by Sarah Vowell – discussion leader Peggy Conti
February 24: I Am Legend by Richard Matheson – discussion leader Mae Sands
March 23: Tortilla Flat by John Steinbeck – discussion leader Darrell Riley
April 20: Columbine by Dave Cullen – discussion leader Susan Bradshaw
