Family Health and Support Workers

FHSW-1: To establish positive and productive relationships with families.
FHSW-2: To understand prenatal, postpartum, and newborn care for  mothers, infants, and their families.
FHSW-3: To support reproductive health and family planning for women of child bearing age.
FHSW-4: To understand the principles of infant and child development.
FHSW-5: To support optimal health, growth, and development of the young child and family in a home setting.
FHSW-6: To understand the principles and role of screening and assessment, planning, and service provision as they relate to the family.
FHSW-7: To facilitate development and maintenance of safe, healthy, and nurturing environments for young children.
FHSW-8: To facilitate adult learning, and provide culturally appropriate health education and information.
FHSW-9: To maintain a commitment to professionalism, including professional development, values and ethics.
