Visual Artists’ Society

 

The Visual Artists’ Society of CFCC was formed in the summer of 2007. The society is dedicated to the advancement of each of its members. The Webber Center Gallery hosts the society’s programs and exhibitions throughout the year.

The judged and juried Best of the Season 2008 will kick off with an opening reception on Friday, November 7 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.  This is the Visual Artists’ Society premier fall exhibit and will feature many new summer works by the group.  Ribbons for Best of Show, first, second, third places and 8 honorable mentions will be awarded.  The show will run from November 7 to December 6, 2008.

VAS member’s fieldtrip in September to Tampa/St. Petersburg have been finalized.  A bus will take the group to a presentation and demonstration by Digital Technologies Group on giclee (Cara, there is an accent over the 1st “e”, from top right to bottom left. Sounds like an “a”), fine arts reproduction.  The International Academy of Design and Technology in Tampa has graciously opened its doors for part one of our fieldtrip.  The afternoon will be spent touring the Museum of Fine Arts near the pier in St. Pete.
