Advanced/Specialized Information

Seminar Dates:

All seminar dates are tentative and subject to change. The schedule will be updated periodically identifying course additions/deletions.

Seminar Locations:

Most seminars are held at the College of Central Florida, Ocala, FL campus (3001 College Rd.). Other seminars are held at selected locations. (Brochures will precede seminar dates.)

Brochures:

Individual program brochures are designed and mailed several weeks prior to the starting dates. Each brochure contains full information about individual seminars or workshops, and registration forms.

Registration:

Pre-registration may be done by filling out and returning the registration form on the back of the brochures. In-class registrations are held in the first hour of the first day of each seminar or workshop.

Dress Policy:

Casual clothing is recommended at all sessions. Please DO NOT wear tank tops, shorts, flip-flop shoes, sweat pants, or offensive t-shirts.

GLOSSARY OF TERMS

State Approval:

Every seminar or workshop is State of Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training approved for either Mandatory Retraining or Salary Incentive Credit. (designated on brochures) 943.14 and 43.25 F.S.S.

2nd Dollar Funding:

Seminars and workshops may be funded by agency training dollars. All courses qualify as state approved for funding.

Trust Funded:

Tuition is assessed to Region VI Fund for qualified and certified Region VI participants, only. Participants from other regions will be required to pay their own registration.

Seminar Fees:

Every seminar fee will be advertised in each brochure and cost will vary.

Region VI:

All law enforcement officers and county corrections officers in Marion, Levy, Citrus, Hernando, (except H.C.S.O.) and Sumter Counties.
