American Morgan Horse Institute Educational Scholarships

Application deadline is March 1. Five $3,000 scholarships awarded annually. Selection is based on ability and aptitude for serious study, community service, leadership, financial need, and achievement with Morgan horses.

American Paint Horse Association Youth Development Foundation

Application deadline is March 1. Applicant must be an APHA or AJPHA member in good standing and involved in horse activity using a Paint Horse or contributing actively to a regional club for at least one year prior to, and at the time of, application. Applicants must apply within one year from the date of high school graduation. Approximately 30 scholarships are given out annually at $1,000 each.

 Application deadline is February 1. $1,000 scholarship will be awarded per year to a current member of AQHA or AQHYA who lives in Florida.

American Saddlebred Horse Association Foundation

Application deadline is April 30. Scholarships are available to applicants who are senior members or special junior members of ASHA. Recipients will be chosen on the basis of academic excellence, financial need, extracurricular activities, involvement with American Saddlebred horses and personal references. Four scholarships of $5,000 each are awarded annually.

Eight $1,000 scholarships are available for youth members of the Appaloosa Horse Club.

Arabian Horse Foundation: General Memorial Scholarships

Application deadline is February 1. Scholarship applicants will be selected on the basic of academic ability, financial need, leadership and equine activities. One winner will be selected from each region. The choice is based on grade point average and Standard Achievement Test/ACT scores. Requirements will be a B average (85 percent or better) for high school seniors and 3.5 GPA for college students.

Application deadline is February 28. The scholarships cover a portion of tuition and housing up to a cap of $7,500 per student. If a student meets financial eligibility requirements he or she could receive $4,000 in additional funding. To be eligible, students must be 24 or younger, have at least a cumulative GPA of 2.85, have an annual household income of $50,000 or less and be a Florida resident.

Application deadline is in January. Scholarships are offered to existing IHSA members based on academic achievement, active participation on the college equestrian team and financial need, in that order. Scholarships range from $400 to $800, but the standard is $500, and the total number varies from year to year.

Application deadline is February 15. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to FFA members pursuing two or four year degrees in equine science. Applicants must have maintained a 3.5 cumulative GPA. The FFA also offers many other scholarships in animal science and agriculture.
