Perkins Professional Development Institute
For Full-time CTE Faculty & Teachers

The Carl D. Perkins State Professional Development Institute (PDI) is offering mini-grants to Florida’s secondary and post-secondary full-time Career and Technical Education teachers who wish to pursue state-approved industry certifications.

Central Florida Community College was selected to administer the Perkins grants to full-time CTE teachers throughout the state. The PDI offers certification workshops at various times and locations during the year. These workshops are coordinated with regional school systems and offered free to qualified teachers/instructors.  School Systems will be responsible for paying for substitutes and other incidental expenses.

High School, Technical Center and College teachers/instructors can determine if they are eligible to participate in this grant by reviewing the following list of state-approved industry certifications:

If you determined that the program you are currently teaching is eligible, you must agree to the following statements:

  • My subject matter expertise is sufficient to pass the certification examination at this time.
  • I have verified that the certification being requested is approved for my current teaching program.
  • I understand that the training provided is only focused on helping me pass the certification test.
  • I will repeat any classes or tests that are failed, with no additional remuneration from the Perkins Mini-Grant.
  • I agree to participate in any follow-up surveys requested of me.

If you agree to these statements, then complete the following application and submit it to your director/supervisor:
