College Credit Classification
All college credit students must be high school graduates or GED recipients (a
non-graduate of high school who has satisfactorily completed tests of general
educational development), or qualified Early Admission/Dual Enrollment students
(see Dual Enrollment).
Degree-seeking students can earn either the Associate in Arts (A.A.),
Associate in Science (A.S.) or Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.).
Non-degree applicants can pursue post-secondary vocational certificate,
adult enrichment or career exploration, teacher certification, renewal or extension.
Courses with a college prep prerequisite are closed to non-degree-seeking students.
Most college credit certificate-seeking students pursue a one-year
program of study.
Transfer students are those who have previously registered at
any other college, regardless of the amount of time spent or credit earned.
They can be degree-seeking or non-degree-seeking. See
special requirements.
Returning students are those who have previously applied and paid an
application fee, whether they attended or not. Although a new application form
may be required, there will be no application fee. Students seeking to return
to the ADN (Associate in Science Degree Nursing) program
must follow outlined procedures. Veterans, see applicable
information. Students who return to CFCC who have not been continuously
enrolled (defined as earning one credit hour or more in one of the
three terms comprising an academic year) will need to complete the program
or academic requirements of the current catalog in effect. Any full- or part-time
student has five calendar years after he/she returns to complete degree requirements
under the catalog in effect when returning.
