Veterans Affairs - Application for Benefits

(Chapter 30,1606,REAP and Chapter 35)

  • Chapter 30,1606,REAP and Chapter 35 benefits for first time users and those who have not used VA Education benefits in the last 3 years.

  • Go to www.va.gov web site
    • Left hand side click on Benefits
    • In the drop down box click Education
    • Left hand side click on Education Benefits
    • Drop down box How do I Apply
  • Apply for GI Bill Benefits Online
  • A new window will pop up for VONAPP-
    • Veterans Online Application
    • Click Start VONAPP
    • You must create a log in name and password.
    • Save before you log out or all info will be lost.
    • Prior to clicking submit, a warning box will appear for you to correct any of your answers.
  • NOTE: Before you submit, you must print application!!!
  • Sign the last page of application. (Signature Page)
  • Mail the signed page to address printed on it. (It should be a Georgia address)
  • If you have any Kicker Documents send them with the signature page.
  • You should expect a time of 3 months to process.
  • After that time, you should receive a Certificate of Eligibility.
    • Submit your Certificate of Eligibility to Enrollment Services (Building 5-Bryant Union Center)
    • Submit a schedule, signed by your advisor, to Enrollment Services (Building 5-Bryant Union Center)
