Science

Science is the systematic knowledge about the natural world and the process by which this body of knowledge is gained and modified. This process embodies a system of logical thinking and actions to determine natural realities and their underlying mechanism.

The Science Department at CF is comprised of two areas:

  • Physical Sciences: Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Environmental Science and Physics
  • Biological Sciences: Anatomy and Physiology, Biology and Microbiology

The mission of the Science Department is to teach students the basic principles of science, both biological and physical, to include observation, deductive and inductive reasoning, experimentation and scientific literacy. The department provides undergraduate instruction required for the completion of associate degrees and supports a number of other programs whose students increasingly experience a need to improve scientific literacy.

By offering high-quality courses in the physical and biological sciences, the College of Central Florida Science Department offers students a solid foundation for a smooth transition to an upper-division program
