CF International Film Series: 'A Separation'
(OCALA, Fla.) Feb. 8, 2013 — The College of Central Florida International Film Series will present “A Separation,” a film portraying the life of a married Iranian couple faced with a difficult decision.
The film will be shown Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 2 p.m. at the Appleton Museum of Art, College of Central Florida, 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd., and at 7 p.m. at the CF Ocala Campus in Building 8, Room 110, 3001 S.W. College Road.
At the Appleton, viewers pay museum admission unless they are a museum member or a patron of the CF International Film Series. Series membership is $15 for individuals, $25 for dual membership and includes a bonus film each year. For information about membership, call 352-873-5808. The viewing is free at CF.
Despite their Islamic beliefs, the couple feels their marriage is ending when they disagree on whether to stay in Iran or move to another country. The wife argues that moving will be better for raising their child while the husband desires to stay in Iran to care for his ailing father.
The 2011 film is rated PG-13 and runs for 123 minutes. “A Separation” is in Persian with English subtitles.
