(OCALA, Fla.) Feb. 26, 2013 — The College of Central Florida International Film Series will present “The Artist” Tuesday, March 12, at 2 p.m. at the Appleton Museum of Art, College of Central Florida, 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd., and 7 p.m. at the CF Ocala Campus in Building 8, Room 110, 3001 S.W. College Road.

At the Appleton, viewers pay museum admission unless they are a museum member or a patron of the CF International Film Series. Series membership is $15 for individuals, $25 for dual membership and includes a bonus film each year. For information about membership, call 352-873-5808. The viewing is free at CF.

The film replicates the magic of silent movies in the story of George Valentin, a leading man who can’t make the transition to sound film, and his magical dog. Fortunately dancer Peppy Miller, bent on making it in the movies, brings spark to Valentin’s life. The 100-minute film is rated PG-13 and received the 2011 Oscar for Best Picture.
