(OCALA, Fla.) June 5, 2012 — On Saturday, June 30, Ocala will play host to the first John Travolta red carpet movie event since 2010. The charity event will include a preview screening of the Universal Pictures film "Savages," directed by Oliver Stone and featuring an ensemble cast that includes Travolta. The film is based on the novel by Don Winslow and is from a screenplay by Shane Salerno, Don Winslow and Oliver Stone. "Savages" opens nationwide July 6, the week following the exclusive Ocala Special Benefit Screening.

As is the tradition when the Travolta family brings preview screenings to their home community, several charities have been selected to receive 100 percent of the proceeds raised from the tickets purchased for the special event.

The charities for the "Savages" preview event include the Boys and Girls Club of Ocala, the College of Central Florida Foundation's Jett Travolta Scholarship, the Munroe Regional Medical Center Foundation and the Ocala Police Department. A fifth organization, Never Say Never, will also be included as the beneficiary of proceeds raised from the event's auction items.

"We are delighted to have the opportunity to be part of this exciting event to raise funds to support these worthy and essential charitable organizations," says Steve Purves, CEO of Munroe Regional Medical Center. "We hope participating and working together in this way produces meaningful results that helps these organizations continue to serve this community and to help those less fortunate. We are very grateful for the efforts of the Travoltas and what their efforts make possible in our community."

The June 30 event will start at 4 p.m. with a check-in reception and photo opportunity with John Travolta and Kelly Preston to be held at the College of Central Florida Ewers Century Center. Next, event guests and Travolta and Preston will make their entrance at Regal Cinemas Hollywood 16 for the "Savages" preview screening where guests and fans will be entertained by live music and performers on the red carpet beginning at 6:30 p.m. A break from the norm, a second theatre will also play host for the "Savages" movie preview charity event – the historic Marion Theatre in downtown Ocala. A post party will be held as a thank you to event sponsors.
