Ocala Information Session on Teacher Certification
June 5, 2008
Central Florida Community College is holding an information session for bachelor’s degree holders who are interested in becoming teachers. CFCC’s Educator Preparation Institute will provide information on the Alternative Certification Program for individuals with a bachelor’s degree or higher, in an area other than education.
The meeting will be held Tuesday, June 17, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Staff Development Training Room of Marion County Public Schools, 1614 S.E. Fort King St, Ocala.
The Alternative Certification Program uses a state-approved model for competency-based teacher certification. It is a fast-paced, 21-credit comprehensive program. Candidates must pass the Florida Professional Education Competency Exam and Florida General Knowledge Test, complete classroom observations and teach lessons.
