Appleton ARTFUL Dining Series Highlights Local Artists

The Appleton Museum of Art, College of Central Florida, will pair unique dining experiences with the work of local artists in a five-part ARTFUL Dining series.

The series kicks off Saturday, March 1, at 5 p.m. with “Carnival Meets Mardi Gras.” Hosts Sharon Cooper and Jillian Ramsammy will treat guests to carnival-inspired cuisine, which complements the art of Grace Senior Morandi and Lisa Russo. The event, which is limited to 30 guests, is at Cooper’s home and costs $45 for Appleton members and $55 for non-members.
Here is the complete ARTFUL Dining schedule:

  • “Wine and Roses,” Sunday, March 9, at 1:30 p.m. Hosts Fred and Carolyn Roberts will treat guests to food from Woodlea Gardens and the art of Meagan Chaney Gumpart and Ed Franklin.
  • “All Aboard the Art Train,” Saturday, March 22, at 5:30 p.m. Feast on heavy hors d’oeuvres in the newly renovated train station in Tuscawilla Park with hosts Nancy Parkhurst and Cindi Morrison. The watercolors of Sue Primeau and jewelry of Juan Carlos Cahue will be on display.
  • “Spring Fling,” Sunday, April 13, at 1 p.m. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres in the garden of Rich Schleicher and Jim Poston while viewing sculptures by John Gamache.
  • “Art at Spruce Creek,” Sunday, May 4, at 4 p.m. Dine at Toppers Tavern with hosts Bettye Daugherty and Mary Kraus. View art by Don Borie, Lynda Ryan, Carol Catania, and Eileen and Dennis Jones.

All proceeds from event reservations, as well as 30 percent of art sales, will benefit the programs of the Appleton Museum of Art, College of Central Florida.
