Morgan Samuel Price’s exhibition will feature views of Florida joined by scenes that inspired her from travels around the country. Her talent and masterful technique of capturing light, shadow and the moving sun in her paintings has earned her countless artistic awards and honors nationwide. Jean Stearn, PhD., executive director for the Joan Irvine Smith Museum of California Impressionists, said, “Morgan Samuel Price is among the best of the true plein air painters of today, that is to say, artists who paint outdoors with the full conviction that the only way to capture the true, fluid effect of natural light is to paint outdoors, amidst that specific light.” The exhibit will run through April 11.

Other temporary exhibitions at the Appleton Museum include “Red” through March 7 and "The New Reality: The Frontier of Realism in the 21st Century” through March 21. In addition, the Appleton’s guests enjoy viewing the museum’s permanent collections of European, American and Contemporary art, plus Asian, African and pre-Columbian artifacts and antiquities.
