CF Announces Community Arts Partners Program

Jan. 29, 2013

The College of Central Florida announces the launch of the CF Community Arts Partners program. Each academic year, a limited number of nonprofit organizations will be chosen through an application process. Those that are selected may hold a future performance or other approved event in the Charles R. Dassance Fine Arts Center or the auditorium at the Appleton Museum of Art, College of Central Florida, and may be eligible to have basic rental fees waived.

“The college has long been a pillar of the arts community by mounting student productions, bringing in professional performing arts productions and partnering with the school system and local arts organizations,” said Dr. Jennifer Fryns, associate dean, Liberal Arts and Sciences. “By offering this type of program, we think we can further stimulate the arts scene by supporting emerging arts organizations as they build their audiences. We also think this will give the students who work as our production assistants a more varied and interesting education.”

Applications for the 2013-2014 academic year are being accepted through Friday, Feb. 15. Eligible applicant organizations must be nonprofit. Preference will be given to local performing arts organizations, but other types of arts organizations will also be considered. The application form is available at www.cf.edu/arts.
