CF to Host Author Michael Martone

Sept. 12, 2012

MartoneThe College of Central Florida will host a reading by author Michael Martone on Tuesday, Sept. 25. The reading begins at 7 p.m. and will be held in Building 8, Room 110, at the Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road. A book signing will follow. The event is free and open to the public.

Martone is the author of more than a dozen books of fiction and essay collections. Library Journal said that his works “show modern writing at its best.” Thomas Bligh, who writes for Baltimore’s City Paper, has said that Martone “elevates the ordinary to the absurdity.”

Martone’s visit is part of the Florida Literary Arts Coalition’s Author Tour, which will bring more writers to the College of Central Florida throughout the school year. For more information, contact Dr. Ron Cooper at 352-854-2322, ext. 1295, or cooperr@cf.edu.
