Visual Artists' Society Presents 'Best of the Season'
Oct. 11, 2013
The Visual Artists’ Society will host “Best of the Season: Winter Wonderland” at the College of Central Florida.
The exhibit will be displayed Thursday, Nov. 14, through Friday, Dec. 6, at the Webber Center Gallery, Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road. A reception will be held Nov. 14 from 4-6 p.m. at the Webber Center. The exhibit and reception are free.
“Best of the Season: Winter Wonderland” will display the talent and imagination of local artists belonging to the Visual Artists’ Society. These members are offered the opportunity to exhibit their artwork twice a year.
“As an artist I am motivated by materials, color and texture, subject matter and of course a touch of humor,” said member David D’Alessandris. “Art should not necessarily be a canvas or a piece of paper under glass.”
The exhibit will be judged by Cindi Morrison, director of the Appleton Museum of Art, College of Central Florida. Her career in arts management has spanned 36 years. As director of the Appleton, Morrison curates and coordinates art exhibitions that consider diverse audiences and engage youth and adult visitors.
Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gallery is closed Saturday, Sundays and college-observed holidays. For more information call 352-873-5809.
