New Courses Coming to Citrus Campus

Continuing Education at Central Florida Community College has three new courses coming in February to the Citrus Campus, 3800 S. Lecanto Highway, Lecanto.

  • Social Networking and Safety Concerns, Wednesdays, Feb. 3 and 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Dorothea G. Jerome Building, Room 201B. The fee is $39. Learn ways to safely explore the world of social networking, including sites such as facebook, twitter and MySpace.
  • About Boating Safely, Saturdays, Feb. 13 and 20, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Building L3, Room 108. The fee is $39. Topics include boat handling, trailering, navigating the waterways, safety, state and federal legal requirements, and boating emergencies. Students will receive the Coast Guard Auxiliary Certificate of Completion, and the Florida Boating Safety ID card will be mailed after successful completion of the exam for all boat operators under the age of 22.
  • Let’s Get to Know Herbs! Tuesdays and Thursdays, Feb. 16 to 25, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Building 91, Room 102. The fee is $39. Learn about planning an herb garden, gardening and harvesting. Discuss cooking with herbs, making teas and other simple recipes, and herbs for beauty and health. A variety of herbs will be displayed at each class.
