CFCC Recognizes First Class of Citrus Nursing Students
May 5, 2008
Central Florida Community College has graduated its first class of nursing students from the Citrus Campus. Twelve students have received the Associate in Science degree in Nursing and were recognized in a pinning ceremony at the Ocala Campus on Thursday, May 1.
The CFCC nursing program was expanded to the Citrus Campus to meet the needs of the Citrus community with the help of U.S. Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite, who helped secure grant funds. The college is now accepting applications for the Citrus ADN class that begins in August.
“CFCC’s nursing programs have provided quality graduates for our service area for decades,” said Gwen Alcorn, associate dean for Health and Human Services at CFCC. “We are excited that Citrus County students can now benefit from our program in their own backyard.”
CFCC will hold an information session for the Citrus Campus nursing program at noon on Tuesday, June 24, at the Citrus Campus, 3800 S. Lecanto Highway, Building L3, Room 107. For information about the session or the nursing program, contact Gaye Selig at 352-854-2322, ext. 1574. To learn more about CFCC, visit www.CF.edu.
