20th Annual Taste of Citrus a Success
Oct. 26, 2009
Central Florida Community College has announced that the 20th annual Taste of Citrus on Oct. 25 at the Citrus Campus had one of the largest turnouts in the history of the fundraising event.
An estimated 600 to 700 people sampled fine dining, casual cuisine and desserts from area restaurants and catering businesses. Ticket sales raise funds for the CFCC Foundation Taste of Citrus Endowment, which provides scholarships for Citrus County students to attend CFCC.
Several participants were recognized for their culinary contributions, including Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center which received the Overall Presentation award.
In the appetizers category, Yai Yai International Style & Lounge received first-place honors, Citrus Memorial Hospital Catering received second, and Boat House Restaurant received third. In the entrees category, Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center received first place, Plantation Golf Resort & Spa received second, and Havana House Café received third. In the dessert category, Chocolate Fountains by AnnaMaria received first place, Publix Supermarket in Homosassa received second, and Edible Arrangements received third.
The 2009 Taste of Citrus Committee would like to thank all the restaurants, sponsors, silent auction donors and attendees for making this Taste of Citrus one of the best yet.
