14 Students Complete CFCC Levy CNA Class

Central Florida Community College recognized 14 students who completed the Certified Nursing Assistant program at the CFCC Levy Center on Tuesday, April 22.

Receiving certificates of completion were Dexter Arrington, Amy Corbett, Samantha Hughes, William Kroeschel, Erica McLaughlin, Cheri Moore, Shutamia Morgan, Michelle Neiss, Beverly Philmon, Swanyeil Robinson, Hope Stott, Steven Taylor Sr., Latrice Watkins and Martha Watson. Receiving recognition for perfect attendance were William Kroeschel and Beverly Philmon.

The CNA program prepares students to work in the health care field as nursing assistants and to take and pass the Florida Certified Nursing Assistant exam. The program consists of 80 hours of classroom and lab training as well as 40 hours of clinical experience in a local health care facility. The students attended Ayres Health and Rehabilitation Center in Trenton for their clinical experience.

All classes, except clinical training, are held at the Levy Center, 114 Rodgers Blvd., in Chiefland. A high school diploma or GED is not required.

In addition to the CNA course, the Levy Center offers a variety of other courses including college credit, adult education (GED), noncredit continuing education, and adult high school.
