CF Faculty Exhibition in January
Dec. 4, 2012
The College of Central Florida will open its 2013 CF Faculty ExhibitionThursday, Jan. 10, in the Webber Center Gallery at the CF Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road. An opening reception will be held that day from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The exhibit and reception are free.
The exhibit combines the experience and expertise of CF faculty members Zacharias Castedo, Tyrus Clutter, Charlie Cummings, Joel Parker and Michele Wirt with their works in 2-D and 3-D art forms as well as digital and media arts. The artwork will provide the foundation for an exhibit that exemplifies new and exciting trends in the current art world.
“It is so important for students and the community to understand that our faculty are practicing studio artists who just happen to also be gifted educators,” said Dr. Jennifer Fryns, associate dean, Liberal Arts and Sciences. “This spring is especially exciting for the college and the Webber Gallery in the sense that we’re not only showcasing our faculty in this exhibit, but are following it up with an exhibit by local high school artists, then an exhibit by our talented CF student artists.
“I hope that everyone gets a chance to see all three exhibits to understand the amazing breadth of mediums, topics and perspectives that we anticipate will be covered over the next four months,” Fryns said.
Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Webber Gallery is closed Sundays, Mondays and college-observed holidays. For more information, contact Exhibits Coordinator Michele Faulconer at 352-854-2322, ext.1552.
