CF Film Series Presents 'The Hurt Locker'

The College of Central Florida International Film Series will present “The Hurt Locker,” a war film focusing on three United States Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal members in Iraq.
The film will be shown on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 2 p.m. at the Appleton Museum of Art, College of Central Florida, 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd. and at 7 p.m. at the CF Ocala Campus in Building 8, Room 110, 3001 S.W. College Road.
At the Appleton, viewers pay museum admission unless they are a museum member or a patron of the CF International Film Series. Series membership is $15 for individuals, $25 for dual membership and includes a bonus film each year. For information about membership, call 352-873-5808. The viewing is free at CF.
Released in 2008, “The Hurt Locker” shows the conflict, stress and harsh reality the soldiers must face. The film won six Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. It stars Jeremy Renner, Anthony Mackie and Brian Geraghty. This film is rated R for war violence and language.
