CF Masterclass and Lecture Series: Haydn's 'London Trios'

Feb. 15, 2013

The College of Central Florida Masterclass and Lecture Series will present Haydn’s “London Trios”at the Appleton Museum of Art, College of Central Florida, 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd. The performance will be held Friday, Feb. 22, at noon.

“I am delighted to perform Haydn’s complete ‘London Trios’with Dr. Oleg Proskuryna, concertmaster of the Ocala Symphony Orchestra, and Edward Klein, principal cellist of the same organization,” said Dr. Sarah Satterfield, CF associate professor of music. “This chamber trio performance will enable audience members to catch a glimpse of Haydn’s lighter side, in that the trios have a divertimento-like quality coupled with musical intricacies.

“Prior to the performance, the musicians will provide historical background on the trio set and explain why this somewhat unique instrumentation was chosen by the composer,” Satterfield said.

For more information about the performance, call the CF Box Office at 352-873-5810. Admission to the concert is free with admission to the museum. Daily admission to the Appleton Museum is $6 for adults; $4 for seniors 55 or better and students 19 and over; $3 for youths ages 10-18; and free for members, CF students, children age 9 and under, and active military personnel and their immediate families. Members of the Appleton Museum enjoy free admission to the performance.
