CF Hampton Film Series Presents 'The Iron Lady'

The College of Central Florida will present the 2012 film “The Iron Lady” on Friday, Jan. 11. The showing is free and begins at 6 p.m. at the CF Hampton Center, 1501 W. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala.

“The Iron Lady” stars Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher, the first and only female Prime Minister of the United Kingdom who is considered one of the most dominant political figures of the 20th century, according to the British Broadcasting Corporation. The film earned two Oscars, 12 additional awards and 15 award nominations and was directed by Phyllida Lloyd. This 105-minute film is rated PG-13 for some violent images and brief nudity.

The film is the first of the year in the Hampton Center Film Series, which is a cultural and educational outreach program sponsored by the college. The series presents three enlightening films, each followed by a brief discussion. “Red Tails” will be featured on Feb. 8 and “Firelight” on March 8.
