Administrators Recognized for Support of U.S. Army National Guard
Jan. 6, 2012
Two College of Central Florida administrators have been presented Patriot Employer awards by the Office of the U.S. Secretary of Defense for “contributing to national security and protecting liberty and freedom by supporting employee participation in America’s National Guard and Reserve Force.”
Dr. James Harvey, senior vice president, and Facilities Director Tommy Morelock were nominated for the awards by Kevin Justice, manager of Plant Safety and Facility Operations.
“They are without a doubt the most accommodating and understanding employers I have had in my 29-year career with the Florida National Guard,” Justice said. “During my five years with CF, my bosses have adjusted my schedule whenever necessary for training and deployment. They have supported me and my family, and outwardly recognize me and the Florida National Guard as assets.”
The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is a Department of Defense agency that promotes public and private understanding of the National Guard and Reserve in order to gain employer and community support. Today, in both manpower and force capability, the Reserve components comprise nearly half of the total U.S. armed forces.
