Author Inspires Visitors to CFCC Levy Center

June 18, 2008

The Central Florida Community College Levy Center hosted author Shelly Fraser Mickle in June. Mickle writes for children and adults and is a resident of Alachua County.

"The author spoke about becoming a writer, her family, life, death and everything in between. It was wonderful!” said Kat Davis, project coordinator of the Levy Center’s Literacy Education for Households. “We promote literacy through activities such as reading together, making crafts, playing educational games, coloring, and listening to music. We provide books, brochures and fliers for the families to take home.”

For information about literacy education at the CFCC Levy Center, contact Kat Davis at 352-493-9533, ext. 2104, or visit the Levy Center at 114 Rodgers Blvd. in Chiefland.
