13 Students Complete Levy CNA Class

Central Florida Community College recognized 13 students who completed the Certified Nursing Assistant program at the CFCC Levy Center on Wednesday, June 11.

Receiving Certificates of Completion were Rachel Barrentine, Dora Elaine Cox, Lishia Davis, Teresa Drawdy, Ariel Glanton, Leann Head, Joni Kelly, Elizabeth Koltz, Vickie Matthews, Stacy McDowell, J’Amy Sanford, Ullanda Washington and Kirstie Williams. Receiving recognition for perfect attendance were Elizabeth Koltz, Kirstie Williams, Teresa Drawdy, Vickie Matthews and Joni Kelly.

The CNA program prepares students to work in the health care field as nursing assistants and to take and pass the Florida Certified Nursing Assistant exam. The program consists of 80 hours of classroom and lab training as well as 40 hours of clinical experience in a local health care facility. The students attended Ayres Health and Rehabilitation Center in Trenton for their clinical experience.

All classes, except clinical training, are held at the Levy Center, 114 Rodgers Blvd., in Chiefland. A high school diploma or GED is not required.

In addition to the CNA course, the Levy Center offers a variety of other courses including college credit, adult education (GED), noncredit continuing education, and adult high school.
