14 Students Complete Levy CNA Program

Central Florida Community College recognized 14 students who completed the Certified Nursing Assistant program at the CFCC Levy Center on Tuesday, Oct. 20.

Receiving Certificates of Completion were Tonya Adams, Patricia Byrd, Theresa Catlett, Christy Coley, Karen Couey, Mary Crawford, Brittany Davis, Jasmine Denson, Mack Harris, Evelyn Hemphill, Maria Huertas, April Jeffery, Brittany McLaughlin and Christina Prevatt.

The CNA program prepares students to work in the health care field as nursing assistants and to take and pass the Florida Certified Nursing Assistant exam. The program consists of 80 hours of classroom and lab training as well as 40 hours of clinical experience in a local health care facility. The students attended Ayres Health and Rehabilitation Center in Trenton for their clinical experience.

All classes, except clinical training, are held at the Levy Center, 114 Rodgers Blvd., in Chiefland. A high school diploma or GED is not required.

In addition to the CNA course, the Levy Center offers a variety of other courses including college credit, adult education, noncredit continuing education, and adult high school.
