Memoir Writing Series at Levy Center Rescheduled
Feb. 1, 2010
The Central Florida Community College Levy Center will offer a three-part series of courses on memoir writing for all aspiring writers. The courses have been rescheduled for March. Classes will be held on Mondays from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The fee for each of the four-week courses is $65.
"A good memoir records the narrative that plays in our minds about a specific event, person, or time in our life, not necessarily as it happened, but as we remember it,” says instructor Warren Parkin.
Memoir Writing: Getting Started, March 1-29, will help you find your voice, define your audience, find inspiration, narrow your focus, put together a writing schedule and much more.
Memoir Writing: Developing and Refining Your Story, April 5-26, is designed to help you develop, organize and refine a memoir in progress by narrowing the subject, making the pieces fit into a coherent narrative and inserting information to create more relevant, interesting characters.
Memoir Writing: Preparing Your Manuscript for Publication, May 3-24, will focus on revision, editing and layout options to prepare your finalized manuscript. Learn to make your word processing program work for you, how to write a query letter and research publishing options.
