Learn Survival Spanish at Levy Center

Jan. 4, 2010

The Central Florida Community College Levy Center will offer residents the opportunity to learn the Spanish language.

The new class, Survival Spanish, will focus on the practical Spanish knowledge that you need when interacting with Spanish speakers and traveling to countries where Spanish is the predominant language. You will learn how to introduce yourself, talk about who you are, what you do and use appropriate language to shop, eat in a restaurant, rent a hotel room, ask for directions and tell time.

The class meets for six weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. beginning Jan. 19. The course fee is $109. The textbook, “Spanish Now” Level 1 with CD by Ruth Silverstein, Heywood Wald and Allen Pomerantz, published by Barron’s Educational Series Inc., must be purchased separately and costs about $30.

You may enroll in person at the Levy Center, 114 Rodgers Blvd., Chiefland; by calling 352-493-9533; or online at www.CFCCtraining.com (select Levy noncredit catalog).
