Levy Center to Host 'Waterpalooza' for Children
Jan. 6, 2010
Atlantic Coast Theatre for Youth will bring its original comedy and rock musical "Waterpalooza” to the Central Florida Community College Levy Center on Friday, Jan. 22.
CFCC will offer two performances of the conservation-themed musical for children in kindergarten through grade 5. There is no charge to attend the shows which begin at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Levy Center, 114 Rodgers Blvd. in Chiefland.
"This is not your typical children's theater, but rather a company whose shows encourage students and their families to think about themselves and the world around them,” according to the group’s literature. “Their scripts are creatively adapted from literature, history and legend and presented in an accessible way to young children, particularly elementary school students.”
The interactive presentations encourage children to clap their hands, rock out, and laugh with hosts Rock Lobster, Rock Shrimp and Hip-Hop Megastar Man-A-T.
For further information, call Donna Bodden or Gina Spring at the CFCC Levy Center, 352-493-9533.
