Alum and Award-Winning MOSAIC to Perform at CFCC
June 29, 2009

Former student Sean Gerrity will return to Central Florida Community College with his award-winning music group, MOSAIC, for three benefit concerts in July.
Tickets are on sale now for performances at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, July 24 and 25, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, in the Fine Arts Auditorium at the Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road. Tickets are $25 to $35 and can be purchased online at www.CFCCfoundation.org or by calling 352-854-2322, ext. 1436.
MOSAIC was the winner of MTV’s Top Pop Group in 2008. The group routinely performs for sellout crowds in Las Vegas and has shared the stage with Prince, Babyface, Tony Bennett and Jay Leno.
"What a great message for other former CFCC students," says Joan Stearns, vice president of Institutional Advancement for the CFCC Foundation. "Sean is extremely talented and has been very successful. Now he is creating a way to give back to his hometown and support the college he attended. It will be an incredible show for anyone who appreciates great musical performances."
So what is MOSAIC’s music like? According to the group’s Web site: "Put Rahzel, Beck, Frank Sinatra and Take 6 in a blender and hit puree. MOSAIC is a six-man a cappella group that will leave you wondering where the band is. Why? MOSAIC uses no instruments. Every sound you hear is produced by the human voice. Mixing elements of funk, jazz, hip hop and even opera, MOSAIC has created a sound all its own."
This will be one of MOSAIC’s first concerts on the east coast.
"It seems fitting that it would take place where I first got my start," says Gerrity. "I am so excited to be back on my college stage at CFCC and to know that ultimately the proceeds from our concerts will benefit CFCC students."
