June 29, 2009
Ocala Regional Medical Center has presented a check for $32,000 to the Central Florida Community College Foundation.
Since 2002, ORMC has donated $179,471 in support of the college's Associate Degree Nursing program and to help address the critical shortage of nurses in our community. In addition, ORMC has contributed $90,000 since 1994 to establish two endowed chairs at the college to enhance the learning environment for Health Occupations students attending CFCC.
"The college appreciates the support of Ocala Regional Medical Center in helping to prepare our nursing students," said Dr. Mark Paugh, CFCC dean of Health and Human Services. "Partnerships like ours with ORMC ensure that the community's health care needs are met."
The ADN program at CFCC is approved by the Florida Board of Nursing and is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. CFCC's nursing students are consistently among the top performers on certification exams.
