CF Performing Arts Series Presents Clawgrass with Johnson and Lester

The College of Central Florida will present the Clawgrass music of Mark Johnson & Emory Lester Friday, Sept. 6, at 7:30 p.m. The performance features a musical blend of bluegrass, traditional folk, progressive acoustic, new-grass and old-timey instruments using the banjo and the mandolin.
This first show in CF’s 25th anniversary Performing Arts Series will be held in the Charles R. Dassance Fine Arts Center at the Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road. A second performance will be held Saturday, Sept. 7, at 7:30 p.m. at the Citrus Learning and Conference Center, CF Citrus Campus, 3800 S. Lecanto Highway, Lecanto.

In 2012, Johnson won the Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo and Bluegrass and also hit the stage of “Late Show with David Letterman.” From there, Johnson and Lester’s music careers have taken off with national and international bookings.
