Pathways, SCORE to Offer Business Courses

Pathways Life Services at Central Florida Community College is partnering with SCORE, Counselors to America’s Small Business, to offer courses for individuals who are considering starting a business as well as those who are currently operating a small business. The courses will be held at the CFCC Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road. 

How to Successfully Start a Small Business will be held Wednesday and Friday, Feb. 3 and 5, from 9 a.m. to noon. The course fee is $35. The course will cover organizational structure, advertising, questions to assure you have hired a qualified accountant or insurance representative, and sources of finance.

Forming a Nonprofit Business will be held Tuesday and Thursday, Feb. 9 and 11, from 9 a.m. to noon. The course fee is $35. Learn the three phases of forming a nonprofit business, discussion of nonprofit versus for-profit, various boards that are required in a nonprofit, and 10 mistakes to avoid.

Sales and Marketing Techniques will be held Monday, Wednesday and Friday, Feb. 22-26, from 9 a.m. to noon. The course fee is $40. Learn marketing strategies and the art to advertising.
