CF Patriot Blues Ensemble to Perform Dec. 8

The College of Central Florida will present the CF Patriot Blues Jazz Ensemble on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the Charles R. Dassance Fine Arts Center at the College of Central Florida Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road. Doors open to the public 30 minutes before the performance.

“In addition to the full jazz band, we’re premiering the CF Jazz Percussion group. This is a unique form of percussion ensemble playing jazz transcribed for percussive keyboards and rhythm section,” said Doug Overmier, associate professor of music at CF. “Each performance combines the visual excitement typically associated with playing percussion with the dynamic syncopations of a jazz ensemble. The result is the best of fusion, swing and cross-over jazz as only percussion ensembles can play it.”
