CF Memorial Poetry Series Features 'An Evening With David Bottoms'

The College of Central Florida will present the ninth annual Debra Vazquez Memorial Poetry Series in November with featured author David Bottoms.
“An Evening with David Bottoms” begins at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, and will be held in the Webber Center at the Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road. There is no cost to attend and a book signing will follow.
Bottoms is the author of eight volumes of poetry, two novels, and a collection of essays. His poems have appeared in The New Yorker, Harper's, The Paris Review, Poetry, and many other magazines, literary journals, and anthologies. Among his numerous awards are the Walt Whitman Award, Frederick Bock Prize, Levinson Prize, and a Guggenheim fellowship. Bottoms has been the Poet Laureate of Georgia for 12 years, and he holds the Amos Distinguished Chair in English Letters at Georgia State University.
