CF Institute Offers Security Officer Training

The CF Institute at College of Central Florida is accepting enrollment for security officer training at the Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road.
- 24-Hour Unarmed Security Officer will be held Jan. 30 through Feb. 4, Monday through Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at the Ocala Campus. This course meets a portion of the 40-hour requirement to obtain the Class D security license; however students must complete the 16-hour supplemental course prior to filing the initial license application. The fee is $125 and students must register by Jan. 26.
- 16-Hour Unarmed Security Officer Supplemental course will meet Monday through Thursday, Feb. 6-9, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Ocala Campus. This course is part of the 40 state-required hours for the unarmed security officer. All 40 hours must be completed prior to filing the initial license application. The course fee is $110 and students must register by Feb. 2.
- Security Officer 28-Hour Armed will meet Feb. 13-18, Monday through Friday from 6 to 11 p.m. and Saturday from 8-11 a.m. The course provides the additional state-mandated training for the Class G armed security license. Weapon and ammunition are the responsibility of the student. The course fee is $205 and students must register by Feb. 9.
A Class D license is a prerequisite to the Class G license; however, students may take the classes in any order. Manuals are included in the cost of each course. To register, visit CFItraining.cf.edu or contact the CF Institute at 352-873-5804.
