Beginner's Sign Language Course at CFCC

Sign Language for Beginners I will be offered by the CF Institute at Central Florida Community College beginning Aug. 5.

The course will meet 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. each Tuesday through Aug. 26 at the Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road. The course fee is $55.

Instructor Judy McCumbee will teach students how to speak with their hands and use facial expressions, eye contact and body language when signing. Students must already have knowledge of the sign language alphabet and finger spelling to take this course. The instructor will also provide insight into the world of the hearing impaired, as well as common etiquette to use when signing.
