CFCC Offering Spanish Course for Teacher Certification

Central Florida Community College will offer a Spanish Subject Area Prep course for individuals taking the Florida Teacher Certification Exam in Spanish.

The course will be offered 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 10 through July 3, at the Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road. The course fee is $99 and includes handouts. Students will receive a certificate of completion.

The 16-hour course will prepare individuals who are taking the exam for the first time, as well as those who need to recertify. The course will cover essential material on listening and reading comprehension, knowledge of language structure, written and speaking expressions, knowledge of Hispanic cultures, and knowledge of second language acquisition principles and teaching methods. This course is designed for fluent Spanish speakers or those who are nearly fluent.
