Limited Tickets Available for Diamond-Studded Travolta Fundraiser

Jan. 27, 2010

A limited number of tickets are available for a John Travolta “From Paris With Love” movie screening and fundraiser which features diamond-studded, jet-setting, Parisian-themed silent and live auctions. The fundraiser, set for Feb. 4, will benefit Central Florida Community College and other community organizations.

Event organizers have provided a sneak peek at auction items which include a custom, one-of-a-kind “From Paris With Love” jewelry set, valued at $10,000 and designed and crafted by Lemeiux Diamond Company; a trip for two to an exclusive Paris fashion show; a Los Angeles TV set visit and lunch with Golden Globe winner and Emmy nominee Dylan McDermott; two weeklong Captiva Island vacation home rentals; roundtrip charter jet service for two to any Greenjets destination; two Sprint Tower tickets to the Daytona 500; and passes to Universal Orlando.

Tickets to the event are $300 and can be purchased at the CFCC Foundation, located in the Enterprise Center at 3001 S.W. College Road, Ocala; online at www.CFCCfoundation.org/FromParisWithLove.htm; or by calling 352-873-5808.

CFCC is helping to coordinate the event, which will be held at Golden Ocala Golf and Equestrian Club. Check in begins at 5:30 p.m. Guests will be treated to dinner, photos with Travolta and wife, Kelly Preston, the auctions, French wine bar, French beer tasting and a cash bar. Entertainment will include mimes, a charcoal artist, CFCC string quartet, pianist and vocalist with guitar and bass accompaniment. There will also be a sponsor/VIP reception and recognition. A screening of the film follows at Regal 16 Cinemas, 2801 S.W. 27th Ave. in Ocala.

The Jett Travolta Endowed Memorial Scholarship will be established at the CFCC Foundation with a portion of proceeds from the benefit.

"The Jett Travolta Endowed Memorial Scholarship at Central Florida Community College will forever stand as a reminder of the Travolta family's commitment to education, their community and most importantly their son, Jett," said Joan Stearns, vice president of Institutional Advancement for the college. "Now more than ever, giving students the gift of opportunity that comes with access to education makes a difference to us all."

As a CFCC Foundation endowment, Jett's scholarship will be awarded each year to a deserving fine arts student who may not have otherwise had the resources to pursue a college education.

This is the fourth movie screening/fundraiser that the Travoltas have hosted in the Ocala community. In addition to the scholarship, this event will benefit Heroes' Health Fund-Ocala Detoxification Project for Firefighters and Rescue Workers; The Marion County Sheriff's Office Foundation; and Ocala Police Department.
